Dress-Code

Gentlemen are respectfully requested to wear a Jacket and Tie in the Dining Room for Lunch and Dinner, Monday to Friday, and in the Members’ Bar at all times (except for when Planters Orders are in place).  Ladies should wear the equivalent attire.

In all other areas of the Club, Members are requested to dress with consideration for other Members, and to reflect the elegance and tradition of the Club and its setting. For guidance on Smart Casual Clothing, please refer to the guidelines below. The Dress Code for Club, Society and Private events will be published in advance.  

Smart Casual Guidance
Tailored and buttoned long or short sleeved open neck shirts and tailored trousers including chinos. Long or short-sleeved pullovers are acceptable provided they are worn over a collared shirt. Roll-neck sweaters are also acceptable. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Certain casual wear is not appropriate to be worn in the Club at any time including: jeans and any denim type material, t-shirts, shorts and leggings, training shoes, flip flops and similar footwear.  Members are also requested to adhere to the spirit of the Dress Code

Accommodation

The Club offers accommodation, from single rooms to suites. All rooms have en-suite facilities and are equipped with televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, toiletries and complimentary mineral water. Early morning wake-up calls may be requested through the Front Desk.

There is a laundry and dry cleaning service from Monday to Friday.

Members' Bar

The Bar is open on for pre lunch and pre dinner service Tuesday - Friday from 11.30am until 2.30pm and from 6.00pm until 9.00pm.

Food is served from 12.30.  On weekdays last food orders for the Calcutta Light Horse Bar are at 9.00pm and last drinks orders at 11.30pm. For the Hill Station, the last food orders are at 9pm and the last drinks orders are at 9.30pm out of courtesy to our residential neighbours.  Limited food menu available between 2.30pm and 7.00pm. Last food orders on a Saturday is 8.00pm and last drinks order at 9.30pm.

Drawing Rooms

The First Floor Drawing Rooms are available for Members’ use at all times. Occasionally up to three of the Drawing Rooms may be reserved for Club Events or private functions. Complimentary Tea, Coffee, and Water are available.

Business Facilities 
The Main Drawing Room, Small Drawing Room, Main Smoking Room and Small Smoking Room may be used for meetings for up to four persons. Papers, laptops and mobile phones are permitted. Complimentary Tea, Coffee, and Water are available.

Business Room 

Three iMac Computers with internet connection, three laptop stations and a printer.  Additional facilities including Plug and Play LCD Monitors for connecting your own Laptops and High Speed LAN, for a high-quality business user experience.

Boardroom

Available for business use or simply as a quiet room and may be reserved for exclusive use at a modest charge.  Includes Video Conference Hub (Fully Equipped Plug and Play) .

Main Smoking Room

Video Conference Hub (Fully Equipped Plug and Play) for up to sixteen persons physically present.

'Home Working' Offices

Subject to availability, Bedrooms with Desks may be hired for Day Use for Members wishing to work or hold private appointments at the Club.

Electronic Devices and Papers

Members may use personal electronic devices, including tablets, throughout the Club provided they are switched to silent or mute and are not spoken into. Brief-cases, brief-case sized bags and larger, the consultation of business papers and the use of laptops should be confined to the Main Drawing Room (before 5.00pm), Main Smoking Room, Small Smoking Room, Boardroom, Business Room and the Folly at the West End of the Courtyard, away from the Terrace. Telephone calls may only be made or received in the Main Drawing Room, Main Smoking Room, Small Smoking Room, Boardroom, and Business Room and in the Folly at the West end of the Courtyard, away from the Terrace.

Smoking

Smoking and the use of Electronic Cigarettes is permitted in the Courtyard only and in no other part of the Club, including bedrooms.

Children
Children aged ten and over may visit the Club.
